ICC Article # 113 Robie D. Fox

ICC Baker’s Article #113, Mr. Robie D. Fox,

Yes, we have met even another fantastic creator, this time was at Brick City Con and Toy Show 24.

Robie is a huge fan of Comics and quite the creator Himself. He’s very Talented and follows the same destiny that so many other creators enjoy. He is passionate and loves to invent. A young creator He has only just started His amazing Journey in this arena and is very promising! He is bringing great stories and great plots in His line of books, and the fan base is growing! There is action, mystery, heroes, villains and plot twists already, and He just started!!  Here are some very inspirational words by Him, check it out!

I got into the realm of creation from the young age of eleven in the sixth grade, and what inspired me and drew me in was character design. Seeing the interesting and unique designs of various individuals in various worlds, whether it be heroes and villains from all sorts of brands especially Marvel and DC, as well as other things like transformers, ninja turtles, spawn, Ben 10, etc, Or the realms of anime and manga from authors and creators over there. To me the line between them was always practically invisible or even non existent, as many have told me my first book style seems manga like to them. But in the end it was the prospect of designing that got me into creation, whether it’s the design of outfits, characters, powers or worlds. I was always a character and world building over story individual, as in my eyes, if the character is good enough they can be flexible enough to act in various story settings whether it be a story that some may call simple or a complex nuanced story. I’ve been doing this since sixth grade at the age of eleven as previously stated. But most of it was tailored around writing characters and worlds, as so many conflicting ideas lead to different worlds having to be made. In terms of scripts I technically didn’t start writing them until the age of sixteen in my junior year of high school. So as one could expect, five years of pure straight character and world creation has a big vault of characters. Being young I don’t know if I’m quite qualified for advice but I tend to use the mentality of lessons I’ve learned from works of fiction. Being things like freedom and enjoyment, I once saw someone say that an individual is much more likely to brew success if they are invited to do something they enjoy, instead of being told to do something they may feel neutral too. In creation I enjoy design as aforementioned, and designing characters to see how they interact with other characters or settings in their world. Frequently when comparing characters I like to compare their personalities, equipment, skills and powers and things of that nature for any fights. To make more satisfying narratives of how their differing designs would interact and possibly even counteract each other, as opposed to just having one character win just for the sheer prospect of something like plot or favoritism or because it’s their story. As for future plans now I’m working to get more comics out of my characters since they’re are so many I’m using the branding of “origins” of different characters to convey their backgrounds and of course origin stories, to get a multitude of characters out and see which ones would be the most satisfactory for the wide audience to carry their own stories and series, and which would be better delegated as side characters. Though of course I would be lying if I said I didn’t have favorites in my characters, that I most likely will give more stories too regardless.
